(Serves 4)

  • 1 cup cashews (soaked previously)
  • 2 healthy tbsp hemp seeds (soaked previously)
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 4 cups natural water
  • 2-3 tbsp lemon juice and lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp agave or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • A piece of ginger
  • A pinch sea salt

This is one of the smoothies that we prepare in our Yoga & Breakfast mornings. I really like how it matches perfectly with sweet tastes. It balances them out thanks to the zesty taste of the lemon. It is high in proteins and healthy fats, which i think is a great recharge after the Yoga practice. You can add granola or buckwheat crispies on the top, and make it as a smoothie bowl.

Place the water, soaked cashews and hemp seeds, cardamom powder and a pinch of salt into a blender. Mix in high speed for a couple of minutes to make milk. (It is not necessary to filter the milk, so keep it as it is).

Now add the frozen raspberries and bananas, the ginger, lemon juice and zest, and if you wish, a spoon of your favourite syrup. Mix one more time until you get a creamy texture. Sprinkle the smoothie with some extra hemp seeds and lemon zest, serve directly.
